Born April 7th 1902 on a farm about 8 miles out of Eureka, Kansas. He moved to Old Ruth, Nevada in January of 1947. He was a "Gandy Dancer" and Track Walker for Nevada Northern Railway and later a Fireman on both steam and diesel engines until Kennecott went to trucks for hauling ore out of the pit. He was also a pumper in the Deep Ruth mine. He retired from Kennecott at 64 years of age. He moved from Old Ruth to 829 8th and D Avenue in 1957 where he lived with his wife Erma until his death April 8, 1979. Pat and Erma left four children, Robert, Patrick, Arlene (Tolas) of Las Vegas and Dorotha (Harder) of New Castle, Nebraska. A ton of Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Others murdered with her were Teller Mrs. Berry Heltman and bank manager Larry Staley. $35,000 was taken in the robbery but the money was recovered by the capture of Conger. The trial was moved to Las Vegas in Dec 1967. Conger later escaped. |
