(You do not want to take any tricks if you bid Nil)

This is a fairly safe hand to bid Nil. Hopefully your partner has higher hearts and diamonds and spades than you.

Nil Bid NO - NO examples because you will fail in making your Nil bid and will take a trick

The biggest problem here is the single Ace of  Hearts. You will take a trick with that card. The two spades are a bit risky because you don't have low ones to throw out so you would take a spade trick if the high ones were not played to pull yours out. Your bid here is 2 because you will take one with the heart and can trump the hearts next time around if the King is played by one of the opponents. If your partner has the King of Hearts, slough off a card in a different suit and do not trump the hand. Try trumping the next heart trick.

While its true you can sometimes win the Nil with 4 spades, remember that there are only 13 of them in the deck and here you have 4 of them. This is the kind of hand that drives you nuts. Not anything to bid on but very risky to bid Nil on. I would suggest you bid 1 on this hand but others would tell you to bid Nil..

Would you bid Nil on this hand?  It sure does look good for a Nil and maybe you can slough off that Ace and those high hearts easy....If you bid Nil on it I have a bridge I would like to sell you and you just lost your team 100 points. I told you to never bid Nil with an Ace of Spades. Tsk Tsk Shame on you.
